heather and I are now engaged!!!! wahooo! i drove down to springfield this weekend to surprise her and boy was she surprised. photos to come soon if i can get a hold of a scanner.
there was not much to do this weekend all by myself here in madison. the highlight of my weekend is when the power in my apartment went out. all the outlets and lights didnt work, except for the one outlet that the fridge was plugged into, thankfully. so instead of bugging the nice people down at the rental office by having someone paged for an emergency i just ran an extenstion cord to plug in my cell charger, and tv. so i’m hoping they went and flipped the thingy in the breaker box, in the basement and got my power back on by the time i get home tonight.
not much else, i tried out a church, im gonna try out some more…
first day of class wasn’t too bad, seems like there is a ton to know for the tests…
things are going good whoopee-do!
i have one more day left of orientation (we had like 18 some odd classes already), and then its on to real training on the software and programming languages i’ll be working on. wahhoo!!! time flys when you are having fun.
it snowed really bad my first day of work on monday, but now its super nice out and sunny. i need to find something to do outside since the weather is soo awesome!
everyone here keeps talking about traffic, and driving from my apartment to epic will get old cuz of all the traffic…. but i don’t know what they’re talking about. i guess its a perspective thing. what they think is a lot of traffic is practally no traffic compared to chicago or seatle.
anyways. hasta. i like it here. i think i can be a dork and no one will think im too weird.
i just moved to madison, wi this past weekend so that i could start my new job at epic systems. they are a software company that creates people-centric software for large hospitals and health care providers. basicly that means anything that has to do with the patient and their experiences at a hospital or clinic, epic has software for it.
my job is as a technical services person supporting the EpicRx software. eventually after my 3-4 months of training are done i will be asigned a few customers that use EpicRx and any time they have a problem, change, or concern they call me. which means i get to solve lots of weird and varied problems along with programming any custom changes they want to the software.
epic seems like a great company to work for. their customers love them because they are straight shooters, honest, dependable, and gosh darn it… epic acctually cares about their customers as if they were part of their family.
all in all im more excited now than before i came, i think its going to be a great opportunity for me.
