heather, marc, wren & z mroz

Wren can now roll over from her stomach to her back. Very impressive to see. It seems like she is getting bigger, stronger, and older each day. She changes so much, so quickly. She rolled over for the first time a few days ago (7/16/2008) for heather in the middle of the day. Heather sent me a text message when it happened: “She rolled over!” Which I promptly replied in the middle of a meeting at work: “No way super cool get it on tape!” That next night wren didn’t want to go to sleep, so we put her on her stomach for a little bit, and she rolled over twice. I got to see it. It was way cool. Since she is an expert at it now, heather was able to finally get it on tape.

Wren has been smiling! She gave me her first smile a couple weeks ago (she was 5 weeks old) and every day we get more and more smiles! I told her that I loved her and she looked me right in the eye and smiled – I almost cried! It is so rewarding and sometimes just cracks me up. She also rolled over for the first time yesterday (7 weeks). I’m not sure if it was a fluke or what… we haven’t been able to replicate the glorious event yet, but she was on the floor for tummy time grunting away and she just flipped to the right on to her back. When I told Marc he said I need to get it on tape so hopefully you will see her showing off soon! (as soon as I learn to install the surveillance cameras so no one misses anything… or maybe I should get one of those helmet cams….)

She’s a lean, mean, head lifting machine! Yeah this is wren doing her tummy time exercises. She seems like she has a strong neck, but the arms really can’t push up yet. Her legs go like crazy when she does this, she is in fully kicky-pants-mcgee mode during tummy time.
