wren is getting so big. she is already 11 months old and her birthday is not too far away.
she is getting really adventurous with her standing now. she is able to get on her hands and feet (bear crawl) and then stand straight up from there. she can only hold her balance for a few seconds but she sure is proud of herself as she does it. yesterday she was able to take 3 staggering steps before she fell forward. we’ll have to get it on tape, its fun to watch.

nudie girl – ok its not really a sign, but whenever we take off her clothes (or anyone takes off their clothes) she rubs her body back and forth and we say – nudie girl – nudie girl

she was on her hands and feet with her but in the air in the bathroom, she just slowly stood up from there without holding on to anything.

whenever we read dr. seuss’ “oh the wonderful sounds mr brown can do” wren knows when we get to the knock on the door page and she bangs her fist on the book knocking on the book. when we get to the part where he makes lightning splat splat, she slaps the page with her hand making a splat sound. we’re trying to get her to put her finger up to her mouth and go “shh” “shh” for the soft soft whisper of a butterfly but she hasn’t picked that up yet. instead though when we read another book where it says “shh” she sticks her finger up to my mouth!

she is really proud of herself when she does it. she holds her hands out to the side to balance and opens her mouth and smiles really big.

no, no, no

Wren started shaking her head no and she thinks it’s hilarious. Probably cause it makes me laugh every time. It’s usually in response to a question so I’m thinking that she probably is figuring out what it means (if she doesn’t already know).

Bedtime routine is – toilet, pjs, books, nurse, sing, pray, bed (sometimes an extra toilet trip towards the end).. and it’s not as long as it seems… well sometimes it is, but not usually. Tonight after her pjs were on she slowly was doing what I thought was the ‘all done’ sign and then I asked her if she was ready for books and she got all excited and did it again. We’ll see if she does it again tomorrow – then I’ll know for sure.

4 teeth!

Wren has 4 teeth now. The top two are quite spacey like mama’s :). She likes to bite her food – crackers, puffs… and she loves eating fruit like a grown-up.
