Grandma Lynn and G-Pa both are turning 60 this year so we had a fun weekend at the Wilderness (indoor waterpark). We sang happy birthday to G-pa this morning and Grandma was sleeping, but that was ok because we sang to her the night before (hence the missing pieces). Wren did NOT like the water, water slides, water features or getting wet at all. I think it was mostly the noise and the sheer number of people that freaked her out. Grandma eventually got wren to put her feet in the water and a couple hours before we left she walked in the water. She had a few smiles, but mostly she was speechless and gripping on to you for dear life!
G-pa and Grandma Lynn are visiting! Grandma made wren and laney matching monkey shirts and jeans and pajamas! We tried to get wren to sit laney next to her on the stairs so we could see the monkeys together, so that is what's going on in the middle picture. Unfortunately, laney doesn't hold a pose too well so she kept ending up laying down on the stairs. Oh well, we had lots of fun being matchy matchy today.
Instead of giving you another picture of wren, I thought I would share what I was up to today. I’m banking on my cousin being too busy with her newborn to be looking at this, but if you are reading Sarah…. beware… you will ruin the surprise!!!! (scroll at your own risk!)
Here is the diaper cover I made today. It is two layers of fleece, size small, made with the LaDiDa pattern. I was inspired by Maggie to put Harry’s name on it (she puts names on everything and it’s so cute!), but didn’t realize that by putting his name on his butt he would have a harry butt! It will be the cutest harry butt ever :)
Wren wanted an apple after she saw me eating one and after I gave it to her she sat on the stair and ate it. I just thought she looked so cute! (usually she walks around while she eats so I was pleasantly surprised that she sat down all by herself)
On an unrelated note…wren can now spell her name! It wasn’t anything we were working on… I was just writing her name on the magnadoodle and spelling it out loud and she said ‘N’ before I did. I asked her to spell her name and she did! About half the time she gets the E wrong, but I was so impressed!
Grandma Lynn made Laney some pajamas! They are super cute (even cuter in person!). There was a cute little bear in the pocket that wren hugged right away. The pants were a little long, but we cuffed them and they were perfect! (the last picture is for you Lynn.. …just because you said you were making more)
Wren just told me she needs to.. call papa… I asked why and she said … to talk.
Poor Wren! She didn't get much sleep last night. Her cold got worse and she probably didn't get more than 1-2 hours of sleep in a row. First picture is wren and papa this morning reading a book. We couldn't get her to sleep anymore this morning so we decided to build her a fort out of cardboard boxes… we look over and she is curled up with her blanket falling asleep (picture number two). When she realizes we are taking her picture she of course wakes up and doesn't want to sleep anymore and enjoys her fort (picture number 3). She is in bed right now crying… I hope she gets some sleep tonight (and us too).
