So wren decided that she likes the dream park in Fitchburg and wanted to show papa how much fun it was. I thought for sure it would be super crowded since during the week it is packed, but apparently everyone had other things to do over the holiday weekend and it was practically empty! Wren loves the tire swing and starts laughing hysterically when you spin her in it and then says "that's too fast" with a huge smile on her face. We would ask if she wanted to be all done and she would ask for more. She also ran up to one of the parallel bars and hung on it for the first time (with no prompting from us!). She must have seen someone else do it. Unfortunately we were always late with the camera and couldn't catch her with her feet up. We had a great day!!!
Wren’s pink dress is from Grandma Sue! It matches with the ton of peonies that bloomed today on Wren’s birthday. We had lunch at Culver’s and Wren had her first kid’s meal at a restaurant… not that she could remotely eat it all (or would I let her), but it was definitely a milestone. We went to the park and when we got back there was a special delivery from Grandpa Jim! It was a flower cake!
Thank you everyone for making Wren’s birthday special! We had a great day and I can’t believe she is TWO!
I made some play dough this morning and we were having a lot of fun making stuff. I told wren I was going to make her something if I could 'pull it off' and she said, "Wren pull it off!" with a big smile. So while I made her an elephant she pulled a whole bunch of little pieces off and put them all over the table. I would say she pulled it off quite well! and yes.. this is her new big smile.
Buttons the Clown (Grandma Lynn) did lots of fun stuff for wren today! She put her make-up on in front of wren, made her a ton of balloons, did a puppet show (or seven) and painted her face, hands and arms. Wren had a ton of fun and kept asking for 'more' and of course Grandma kept doing more! More balloons, more puppets, more hand painting! I can't blame her for wanting more hand painting though since those had sparkles on them. Thank you Grandma Lynn for a ton of fun.

0 Comments Published by marc May 23rd, 2010 in pic a dayour yard was getting really nasty and full of weeds after not taking care of it for the last several years. the first pictures below is what it looked like before we started. the last is what it looks like today. we aren’t fully done, but we used 3 cars full of mulch so far. we’ll have to go back for more when they have some out. its free you know at the park, which is cool.
i’m not really sure what is supposed to be there and what are weeds. i hope i didn’t pull up too many things that were supposed to be there.
Wren’s new response when she doesn’t want to go to the toilet… “put a diaper on!” ???? Weird girl.
We did a little more yard work today… wren got to water the plants and her pants. I'll be sure to put less water in the can next time and maybe wait till after I pull weeds to let her do it! Later when I was making dinner wren wanted to test the mashed potatoes (one of our traditions) and she stood there eating them for probably 15 minutes. Luckily it was just marc and I eating them with her tonight so we didn't mind her germs.
We finally are starting to tackle our yard and wren thoroughly enjoyed helping us! She didn't want to come back in and asked to do some more later. She loved picking the dandelions and collecting sticks. After wren's 3+ hour nap (whoa!) we went to the park and there was a little creek there that marc was showing wren how to throw sticks in. All in all a fun day!
