Ok… not so much a pedicure as me just painting her nails for the first time. I recently painted my toes red and wren told me how pretty they were and then looked at hers and asked if she could paint hers. So, I researched non-toxic nail polishes and found some great stuff called piggy paint and ordered a couple colors. She picked orange of course (macaroni and cheese it was called) and I picked a shimmery purple (girls rule). I asked her what color she wanted to pain them and she said both (not surprisingly) so we alternated toes. I was contemplating trying to do flowers or at least polka dots on her big toe, but marc said to keep it simple for the first time. As simple as purple and orange alternating toes can be.
So, wren jumped for me once about a month ago and it must have been a fluke because she wasn't able to do it since. Well, today her and Olivia were 'dancing' which looks more like jumping and Wren actually caught some air! I was so proud of her and she was super proud and excited too. She was even able to jump a ton tonight for papa which was the true test. I took a billion pictures trying to catch her in the air and of course the only one I have is one where the flash didn't go off… but here is my proof:
Typical Wren. We didn't get our annual father's day photo shoot in today, but hopefully we will in the next week or so. I tried to get a couple shots of marc and wren together and she didn't want to be held and wasn't very cooperative. In her defense she was very very tired and we waited until the end of the day. These are outside of Rainbow Cone where marc and my dad got free small cones… it was great to go there and reminded me a lot of when I was a kid!

We met up some friends at Bean Sprouts for lunch where wren got a veggie pizza (with extra veggies pureed in the sauce) with wheat crust… she didn't eat the whole thing, but did come back later for more. She, of course, finished her grape kabob right away. I think all the cool toys there where distracting her too much! Olivia and Wren both got flip flop cookies on sticks (lucky girls) while Julian was content with his mini muffin and coloring.
It took forever for wren to go down for her nap and she was down for only an hour and started fussing… I left her and she fell back asleep until 6pm! Marc got her up for dinner and we went to the park after we ate since it was so nice out (and I promised her a trip to the park before she went down). We had a lot of fun!
Wren is weened now. Since we started she has only asked for boobie milk a handful of times. I just tell her… “we don’t do that anymore.” She only protested a couple of times.
We are going in to Chicago for Father's Day this year so we decided to give marc his present early. I was also just super excited that it got here and wren already told him what it was and she made him a super cute card at my friend Joan's house yesterday (thanks again Joan for all the creative planning!).
