honey hair

heather decided to use some honey to style wren's hair. it looked good but was kind of sticky most of the day. she got a shower tonight. she said i should try it in my mohawk, i don't think i will be doing that.

wren did good in her new bed last night. she was moving around quite a bit but i think that is fairly normal for her sleeping.

big bed!

tonight is the first night that wren is sleeping in her new big bed. she is moving out of her pack and play and onto a cool mat on the floor. it is really a mattress pillowtop top from ikea. the twin SULTAN TÃ…RSTA matress topper makes quite a comfortable mat for a kid’s bed on the floor. i wanted to get her a japanese futon, but that was a bit on the expensive side. heather graciously agreed that we could get this instead of a normal twin bed like she wanted to get.

wren was quite excited about her new bed and sleeping on the ground. so far so good she went to sleep really quickly and she didn’t get off the mat to run around the room or anything (yet).

it is a good thing we got her new bed now. earlier this week we caught wren half way out of the pack and play two separate times during her time outs. she climbed up in the corner and was straddling the top rail of the pack and play. then today during another time out wren fully got out of it and walked over to open the door. heather was very surprised.

internet kids these days

wren opened the laptop and said she needed to check her email.
she then said she got email from sarah, luke, and rose.

again later the same day…
as i was putting wren to bed she said that we should do something fun in the morning when she wakes up. she said she wanted to see a dolphin show. i told her i didn’t think there were any dolphin shows in our town to see. she told me to check on the website and find out.

walk around lake katherine

we took a walk this morning around lake katherine. wren's favorite part was throwing rocks, berries, and sticks in the water, especially at the waterfall part.

wren likes to line dance with grandma. grandma sue says she almost knows the cupid shuffle, but not yet.

we went to the shedd aquarium today with grandpa jim. wren decided to give grandpa some knuckle on his face. i have no idea where she came up with this. it looks like punching to me. she was way past due for her nap and i think she was getting a bit crazy (or punchy if you will) from the lack of sleep.

i showed this video to wren later the next day and asked her what she was doing to grandpa. she said she was “giving him some knuckle.”

nose

Me: wren stop picking your nose.
Wren: I’ll just rub it. (taking her finger out of her nose and rubbing underneath it instead.)

Yard work fun!

Wallpaper…it’s everywhere!

When wren wakes up in the morning…

She says: I take a sleep!

It is coming off way easier than it did in luke and sarah’s room.

Ceiling…

Getting a ‘popcorn’ ceiling off is fun…almost…

another day… another park

we went for a walk in the woods by my parent’s house and sat by the river and threw rocks. we went to meet aunt sandy for lunch near her work, and we went to another park. this time it was triangle park.

lot ‘o knudsefun!

wren had so much fun today playing with all the girls. i don't think it would be possible for her to have any more fun tonight even if she tried.

visit to the zoo

we did a short trip to the zoo today. we rode on the motor safari tram, saw the butterflies, saw the bears, penguins, and fish. we even got to ride on the carousel, except wren was afraid to sit on one of the animals so we just rode on the bench.
