In hopes that the rest of the floor installation will go quicker we (marc) repainted a couple walls in the living room. There was white under the carpet where it wrapped around the stairs and the upper ledge and to not have an obvious touch up job we just did the whole walls. (Floor guy said that he would be able to somehow put a trim to cover it, but I wasn't convinced that he knew how he was going to do that. When we mentioned we could fix the paint it seemed like it might be easier for him.)
In other 'news', I crocheted a hat for sweet tart and wren kept asking if it was for her. I started another hat and she asked if that one was for her…. I was starting to feel guilty! So we went to the store and she picked out some yarn and I made her a hat. It actually turned out better than I thought it would since I had to change the pattern quite a bit to accommodate for her size and the type of yarn I was using. The brim isn't really that wonky… it just needed to be straightened out better before we took the picture.
wren at breakfast….. "when sweettart is born, I will hold the baby, and hug the baby, and kiss the baby….. and give knuckles!"
With the cold weather we wanted wren to start sleeping with a warmer blanket. We tried a few different blankets and she wouldn't keep any of them on her. Marc wanted to get her a down comforter, but we found a comforter we had (not down) that I folded in half and it was the perfect size… and surprisingly she slept with it on her the whole night and is able to pull it back on herself if it comes off (very important!). It was rather ugly so I made her a cover for it and hand sewed some birds on it to match her curtains (and all the birds are not green and brown like it looks like… there are some purple, orange and blue ones towards the bottom). She was very excited to try it out tonight!
wren just told me we should go get the ergo so she can hold me :) she can tell I don’t feel good… she thought I was sad, but I told her I’m just getting sick. She said she can hold me in the ergo, but she ‘might fall in the hole’ (not sure what that means?)
Well… the floor guy was working on putting the bamboo in our hallway today which was extremely loud echoing through our house so we tried to get out as much as possible. We went to the zoo in the morning and then by papa's for lunch. I didn't plan ahead so when I picked up our lunch from the fatty arches (mcdonalds) I got wren her very own cheeseburger. She was so super excited since usually she will just get vegetables that I brought for her, a couple fries, and a bite of one of our burgers if she asks for it. She ate the whole thing and 5 or so fries. She then had a very good nap and woke up really thirsty… she kept gulping water and telling me how thirsty she was. This definitely won't be something we will repeat anytime soon, but it was fun to see marc and he put on a super quick juggling show for wren. (we were getting ready to leave since he had a meeting and wren said 'wait a sec, I need to go over here to get something'.. she always remembers where the juggling clubs are!)
