Wren's appointment was interesting because they gave her a vision test with shapes and had her jump and draw… If I knew she was going to be tested we would have studied! She did good though and I think she had a lot of fun… until the shot. She must have forgotten that they hurt because she was fine until the needle went in and then carried on for a while. Z cried after his for like 2 seconds and was fine.
Wren is getting a new bed for her birthday and the first part came today! So, no she isn't just getting an upgraded mat, but it is a futon mattress for her platform bed. It's all cotton and should be better for her back than an innerspring mattress. She was so excited when it came today (she had no idea) and is sleeping on the mattress tonight! (in her room, not the living room where we took this picture!)
Here is z chilling in the stroller while we worked on the garden. I was surprised how long he lasted in it. He really likes sitting up more now. There is also a picture of some of the wires (conduit??) that marc found while digging in the garden. It's kind of disturbing and I'm not sure if anything will grow there, but it will be fun to try. Wren helped a ton and loved being outside, but I guess she didn't make it in the photos…
I've been taking pictures, but not posting them! argh! Here are some from yesterday. We went to the park with our friends and I think I got better pictures of them than I did of wren! I was wearing z so no pictures of him. Olivia kept saying 'look at me!' which is what she was doing in her picture and Sophia loved crawling through the tunnel. Julian had fun going down the slide and wren loved the motorcycle and shoveling up the rocks.
z is 6 months old today, and he got to try solid food for the first time. he had a bit of pear. we couldn’t really tell if he liked it or not. he didn’t make any weird faces so i’m guessing he mostly liked it.
My Aunt Donna and Uncle Rick (and family) bought this for Wren (I think) before she was born. I contemplated trying to turn it into a dress last summer, but never got around to it. It finally almost fits her and she wore it tonight to bed. It made me smile :) Somebody… well tons of people… love us in chicago!
Yesterday we went to the Brookfield Zoo with Grandma Lynn and it was so much fun! Here are a few pictures from that and a couple from tonight. We visited with Sandy and Jamal and finally saw their apartment! Jamal was reading wren a book about his favorite bicycle guy and sandy didn't want to be in any pictures she just wanted to take them :).
