Wren had her first day of homeschool preschool today! She was so excited and wanted to start before she was done with breakfast. We sang a good morning song, had calendar time, practiced drawing lines, L's and wren's name. She also tried to lace the letter L on the leaf and then we practiced patterns with different colored leaves. We had a lot of fun. It was definitely easier when Z was sleeping though.. we will see what the future holds! Later today we plan to go on a walk to the library to find some books on leaves and gather leaves on the ground on the way (I can't believe there are already some on the ground!).
We did have some moments of distraction where she just wanted to put the pencil behind her ear and color instead of drawing lines… so we colored an L with a lion… she thought it was hilarious that the lion was hugging an L (she thought I was being silly?!).
We had a picnic at the park and z decided it was time to start exploring the park equipment.. he's getting to be such a big boy! He also had a blast in the boucy house at Adie's birthday party. Wren was eating one of our cucumbers from the garden and made some silly faces. I think that's all for now…
At lunch z kept signing for more. He had such a big smile while he was doing it!
heather said “shouda woulda coulda” the other day, and wren thought it was hilarious. she kept saying it over and over again. heather explained to her why it sounded cool, because they were rhyming words. now wren is a rhyming machine, she keeps coming up with words that rhyme. some of them are real words and some of them are just made up words, but she gets the idea. heather told wren she could have a cereal bar in the car this morning since we were running late for the 8am service. wren said “bar and car… those are rhyming words.”

They were all popcorn kernels on the trampoline and the teacher (Miss Lauren) would gently bounce and they all would laugh. They also had a long stick that was supposed to be butter that she put on them all…
