heather said “shouda woulda coulda” the other day, and wren thought it was hilarious. she kept saying it over and over again. heather explained to her why it sounded cool, because they were rhyming words. now wren is a rhyming machine, she keeps coming up with words that rhyme. some of them are real words and some of them are just made up words, but she gets the idea. heather told wren she could have a cereal bar in the car this morning since we were running late for the 8am service. wren said “bar and car… those are rhyming words.”
Wren’s maple tree helicopter nose!
1 Comment Published by marc September 7th, 2011 in pic a day, wrenWren had her first gymnastics class today. Here is the only pic I got and it's blurry because it was through the observation window. They were all popcorn kernels on the trampoline and the teacher (Miss Lauren) would gently bounce and they all would laugh. They also had a long stick that was supposed to be butter that she put on them all…
Wren asked marc if grandma lynn and gpa could come over and he said maybe… she then said "skyping is kind of like coming over because you get to see people talking"
this is currently wren’s favorite video. she calls it the bunny video with the runny nose. she thinks it is really cool but weird. heather thinks it is creepy and doesn’t want her to watch it. i kind of like it.

after i referred to marc as “papacita”….
wren: “papa doesn’t like papacita”
me: “are you sure?”
wren: “no, he doesn’t like it. he likes pops though! and pop-sie popsicle!”
I told wren to be quiet while z was sleeping, and she said: "like a ninja like papa" and she put her hands out, like axes, in front of her with a ninja pose.
i’m not really sure where wren got this evil laugh from!
why wren doesn’t want to go to the bathroom…
0 Comments Published by heather February 8th, 2011 in wrenI'm trying to get her to go to the bathroom…'i want to wait for papa cause he is a toilet boy'
Last night wren had her first night without a diaper and no accidents!
we randomly got the book “all God’s critters” from the library like 2 times ago, but wren still remembers and sings the song.
waiting for sweet tart at the park
0 Comments Published by marc November 12th, 2010 in pic a day, video, wrenstill no sweet tart, yet. wren and i walked to the park to play a bit while we waited. heather didn’t want to come because it was wet out and cold.
wren was singing all kinds of made up songs while she made music with a stick on the playground. she had a good one called “my leaves are changing colors”, but she wouldn’t sing it while i was filming.
oh yeah the floor is officially done! awesome!
wren at breakfast….. "when sweettart is born, I will hold the baby, and hug the baby, and kiss the baby….. and give knuckles!"
wren just told me we should go get the ergo so she can hold me :) she can tell I don’t feel good… she thought I was sad, but I told her I’m just getting sick. She said she can hold me in the ergo, but she ‘might fall in the hole’ (not sure what that means?)
wren running in an empty room
0 Comments Published by marc October 9th, 2010 in pic a day, video, wrenwe are ripping out all the carpet in preparation for our new bamboo floor on monday. wren found that an empty room and closets makes a good running track to run around.
conversation with wren as we were running past the neighborhood pool
0 Comments Published by marc October 8th, 2010 in wrenso this morning since she woke up so early as usual, and to help let heather sleep in a bit, i bundled wren up in two pairs of pants and a hooded sweatshirt and we went for a run outside. she was so excited about it, she kept saying…. "we're going running outside." "i have my hood on." with a big smile on her face.
it was around 6 am and still dark out for the most part. we ran about 8 blocks in total with a stop at the park to swing on the swings in the middle. she only fell down 2 times while running but she went the whole way on her own and only walked a few steps. not sure what got her into running, but we may do some early morning runs again before it gets too cold. i know i need the exercise and heather can use a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning.
Wren's been toilet trained during the day for maybe 6 months now? We decided to try to tackle nap and night training and see how it goes. The plan is to try for 3 weeks and if she really doesn't respond than we will go back to diapers. We are basically just waterproofing the bed instead of her and going to wake her up to go before we go to bed. She has a little toilet in her room which she can use by herself, but I'm not so sure she will in the middle of the night. I'm excited that I will be done with diaper laundry for at least 3 weeks even if it means more bedding laundry! (not that I didn't enjoy diaper laundry… I'm just more excited about the newborn diaper laundry than the two diapers a day I had from wren… those are kind of annoying)
